Amy Schwartz is known for her funny and affectionate picture books featuring memorable heroes and heroines. Bea and Mr. Jones, A Teeny Tiny Baby, Annabelle Swift, Kindergartner100 Things That Make Me Happy, and The Purple Coat, by Amy Hest, are among her best loved titles.

Amy has won The National Jewish Book Award, The Charlotte Zolotow Award, and The Christopher Award, among other honors. Her books—more than fifty in all—have been named a New York Times Best Illustrated Book, a New York Times Book Review Notable Book, and an Amazon Best Book of the Year, and have been featured titles on Reading Rainbow.

Growing up with three sisters in a house with a patio in San Diego has inspired many of Amy’s books, as has raising her son in a small red brick apartment building in Brooklyn, NY, where she still makes her home.
